Earn 200,000 Marriott Bonvoy® bonus points
The Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card is a premium hotel card that gives you high-level elite status, dining credits and a Free Night Award every year.
Amex typically limits you to earning a welcome bonus once per card per lifetime, so it's even more advantageous to apply for an American Express credit card when the intro bonus is elevated. Marriott Bonvoy credit cards also have additional (convoluted) eligibility guidelines since they are issued by both Chase and Amex.
Since these are the largest bonuses we've seen for the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy and Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant, there's no better time to consider these cards. Plus, both cards provide a full six months to meet the minimum spending requirement, which makes them more accessible for anyone who isn't a big spender.
Marriott has dynamic award prices, which means you'll need to look up the exact hotel and dates to know how many points you need for a trip. The downside of this is that a top-tier hotel during peak season can cost over 100,000 points a night, so you may only get one or two nights from these bonuses (albeit at an expensive property). There's also an upside to dynamic prices, because you can stretch your points further if your travel dates are flexible. This is especially true if you can take advantage of deals, such as Stay for 5, Pay for 4 or PointSavers.
Stay for 5, Pay for 4 allows you to book a five-night stay with points and only pay for four nights. You'll receive the discount as long as a Standard Room is available for points bookings, and you can earn more than one free night on the same reservation. For example, a ten-night stay would receive a two-night discount, etc. (the two cheapest nights would be free).
PointSavers are discounted award nights. While there is no master list of PointSavers hotels or dates, they are clearly denoted in Marriott's award night search results. You can stack these discounted nights with the Stay for 5, Pay for 4 deal for even more savings.
The Marriott Bonvoy Business has a two-tiered welcome offer. You can earn three Free Night Awards after spending $6,000 in purchases and two more Free Night Awards after spending an additional $3,000 in purchases ($9,000 in total) on the card in the first six months of card membership.
Each of these free nights is valid for nights costing up to 50,000 points, and you can top off each award with up to 25,000 points. That makes this bonus potentially the most valuable. However, it also has additional restrictions.
Free Night Awards don't qualify for the Stay for 5, Pay for 4 promo, and they expire 12 months after they are issued. So if you don't have firm plans to stay at a property where you can use your free nights, one of the more flexible points-only bonuses may be better for you.
Earn 3 Free Night Awards + an extra 2 Free Night Awards
The Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card gives business owners the opportunity to earn up to two free night awards every year and bonus points on common business expenses.
